TLC Sunday Lunch Teams 2010

If you are interested in training or participating on a Sunday Lunch Kitchen Team, please collect a form from the foyer near the newsletters or see Wendy Edwards

Dinner Groups

Dinner Groups are a great way to connect with other adults at TLC. They meet about once a month for four months for dinner. Host houses are rotated and everyone brings some food. There is no agenda other than to get to know people. If you are interested in joining one, place your name on the sheets in the foyer or contact Pam Stallard – (Phone number and email address available in contact list or from the office) Groups will be finalised soon so be sure to put your name down quickly.

FRESH Youth Theatre is back for 2010!

We kick off again early March, but need some help with our cooking roster. Every Thursday evening we share a meal after our workshops, which has been wonderfully catered for by people in our community. If you think you could give up one Thursday evening a month from 5.30-7.30 we would love to have you on our cooking roster. We are looking for 4 helpers. Please speak to Annie McDowell (phone number available from office). Thanks!

 Special Event
Short series in Social Justice - Held at TLC

TLC is hosting a 5 week series in Social Justice -

The goal to energise and inform people about issues of justice and how we can be actively involved in such pursuits.

The series will include exploring the Biblical framework (both Old and New), Eco Theology, the Australian Context and will feature a panel of on the ground grass roots pursuers of justice.s Social Justice Network. Each night is $5! Just rock up on the night.

Some the speakers we'll see are Josh Meadows, Keith Dyer (Whitley), Richard Mallaby, Merryl Blair (CCTC) and others from UNOH, Make Poverty History and the Uniting Church.

They are running in the coffee shop on Thursday evenings from 7.30pm (arriving at 7.15) until 9.30pm, and are put on by the Church of Christ Vic/Ta

All are welcome

 This Week's Reflection
PRAYER NOTES

I came into men’s lives, little one,

To heal, restore to make you whole.

I am the light, shining in the darkness,

Burning in the darkness to guide your way.

The path is not a treadmill,

A ceaseless inescapable treadmill.

But an exciting, wondrous, upward path,

Where shadows and pitfalls are illuminated by me.

If you travel with me,

I will make all plain.

Little by little,

I will show you the way.

Reading from Sunday:
Luke 14:7-11  Good News Translation (GNT) Luke 20: 27 -40. Marriage / Resurrection

27 Then some Sadducees, who say that people will not rise from death, came to Jesus and said,28 "Teacher, Moses wrote this law for us: "If a man dies and leaves a wife but no children, that man's brother must marry the widow so that they can have children who will be considered the dead man's children.'29 Once there were seven brothers; the oldest got married and died without having children. 30 Then the second one married the woman, 31 and then the third. The same thing happened to all seven - they died without having children. 32 Last of all, the woman died. 33 Now, on the day when the dead rise to life, whose wife will she be? All seven of them had married her." Jesus Response 34 Jesus answered them, "The men and women of this age marry, 35 but the men and women who are worthy to rise from death and live in the age to come will not then marry. (Forward to verse 40)
