Dear Members of the TLC Community,

It is with great sadness that I tell you of the passing of our dear friend Jim Stallard, who died on Sunday afternoon, 15th January.

Jim has been a wonderful husband, father, grandfather (did Jim ever tell you he had grandchildren?) leader, preacher, friend, pastor and man of God. Jim's life and journey have both amazed and encouraged us at TLC over many years. We have laughed with him and cried with him, and we have always been encouraged by his faith, hope and love. Jim was a passionate follower of Jesus. We will miss him greatly.

Our love and prayers are with Pam, Jen and Chris and their families. May they know God's love and comfort.

Aa special Farewell Service for Jim Stallard was held on Thursday 19th January, at 11:00am, at TLC.  A recording of the service can be accessed from the URL given below.
Please send messages to Pam and the family through the TLC Office.

God bless you,

Richard Galbraith
On behalf of the TLC eldership

Jim Stallard - Funeral Broadcast

The recorded funeral service is in two parts (1hr 7min + 27min) and can be viewed at www.livestream.com/TLCchurch

Please note that this broadcast will contain ads from the livestream site and these pay for the video streaming service.
Mobile devices such as phones and iPads might not work with this video stream.
Due to the slow Internet link you will notice a change at the 9 minute mark when we lowered the video quality so that the audio quality could be improved, we apologise for the poor video but hopefully it serves its purpose.

2012 Commitment to TLC

TLC provides many programs and services which are run by volunteers.  To continue running these we need more volunteers and ask everyone to prayerfully consider where they may be able to help.  There are a number of people who are no longer able to continue their involvement so we need others to step into new roles.  We ask that you consider carefully what areas are your gifts, passion and involvement and how you could contribute in those areas.  You will find an insert in the Sunday Newsletter where you can indicate your interests and then a TLC representative will contact you.  Please Click here to download the attached form and return it to the TLC Office.

Kids Hope Mentors for 2012

Being a Kids Hope Mentor is a rewarding and fulfilling role that only takes one hour per week to invest in a child's life.
If you are interested in being a Kids Hope Mentor next year, please speak to Julie asap as there will be Mentor Training occurring locally in a couple of weeks.

THE ROAD

Über is an organisation that interprets contemporary culture and articulates a fresh way of living out the gospel in the 21st century. We exist to equip young adults to live meaningful Jesus centered lives in a way that reinvigorates churches, organisations and communities, now and in the future. We provide tailor made solutions for today’s unique cultural context through specialised resourcing, consulting, speaking and training.

This is an invitation to those seeking to find and travel the narrow road. It is a unique opportunity to re-assess the direction we are travelling, to understand the new faith of the road and to re-discover the riches of the destination.

 This Week's Reflection

 Reflection on Today’s Message

The old Dutch scholar, William Hendriksen, listened to the music of Zechariah's song and remarked that his exuberant song has objective and subjective tones to it:

"Objectively it amounts to reconciliation with God through David's horn, the Rising Sun, the Messiah.

Subjectively it is the quiet and comforting assurance of forgiveness and adoption.

It is the smile of God reflected in the reconciled sinner's heart, the shelter from the storm, the hiding-place in the shadow of His wings, the stream that issues from the fountain of grace. To that peace the Rising Sun directs our feet."

Do you enjoy that peace today?
This Song arises from a heart set free, a mind made clear, and a soul renewed. Across the ages and through the presence of the Lord today, this is your invitation to end the stillness of your soul and muteness of your life without the Spirit of God in you.
