Presenter Notation
1. Song Title
The first line must always contain the song title.
2. Song Body
The body of the song is grouped into one or more "pages". Pages are separated by one or more blank lines. A period ('.') in column 1 on its own denotes a blank line within the page.
3. Control Information
Control information may be specified by including a period ('.') in column 1 followed by a specific character. Four types of information are supported:-
Song information (.i),
Sequence information (.s),
Key information (.k), and
Page numbers (.0, .1 to .9, ./, /*). The / and * characters would generally be used to indicate a bridge or reprise section.
Presenter will also recognize songs provided in CCLI SongSelect format.
Page Numbers
By default, page numbers are allocated automatically by Presenter. The numeric keys 0 through 9, and characters / and * may be used to quickly jump to a particular page. (Page 0 is the Chorus page) The default page numbers may be overridden by specifying a number following the period.
Example:
.2
Hallelujah, hallelujah
Text on the same line as page numbers will not be displayed by Presenter.
Specifying your own page numbers is useful when a song includes more than one verse, and each verse spans more than one page.
The / and * characters would generally be used to indicate a bridge or reprise section, although they could be used anywhere to extend the number of quick jump pages.
Chorus
Start a line with the word Chorus to denote a chorus page. This will enable the 0 (zero) key to jump to this page. Or, if you prefer not to display the text Chorus, use the .0 page number tag.
Sequence
A line of text may be specified following the characters '.S' (upper or lower case 's'). This is normally used to specify the sequence, or arrangement of the song.
Example:
.s V1 Ch V2 Ch Br V2
This line normally follows the song information but may be placed anywhere in the song text (between pages) and will only be shown on the Control Window.
The use of this facility is entirely up to you. The text is free format and is not interpreted by Presenter in any way. This is typically used as an aid for the operator to follow the arrangement of the song according to the musicians and/or song leader(s).
Song Information
A line of text may be specified following the characters '.I' (upper or lower case 'i'). This is normally used to specify copyright information.
Example:
.i John Citizen © 1998 Good Music
This line normally follows the title but may be placed anywhere in the song text (between pages) and will only be shown on the Control Window.
Tip: The copyright symbol '©' is entered in Notepad by pressing and holding the Alt key while entering '0169', then releasing the Alt key. Most editors allow this keystroke sequence although some may require the leading '0' to be omitted (eg. Alt-169).
Key Information
A line of text may be specified following the characters '.K' (upper or lower case 'k'). This is normally used to specify the key of the song.
Example:
.k Bb
This line normally follows the song information but may be placed anywhere in the song text (between pages) and will only be shown on the Control Window.
The use of this information has no bearing on Presenter. The text is free format and is not interpreted by Presenter in any way. This is provided mainly for additional information when the song list is exported.
CCLISongSelect

1) Artist - a setting on the Options Copyright Screen controls whether line 2 should be treated as artist information if found.
2) Body of Song - Text in groups of lines with a blank line indicating a new page (as with other songs). Additional control is provided to display or supress subheadings.
3) CCLI Song No. - The song number is retrieved for information purposes if a line is found with this specific text.
4) For use solely... - Any line with the text "SongSelect" will be ignored by Presenter.
5) CCLI Licence No. - The users license number is retrieved for information purposes if a line is found with this specific text. This number may optionally override the default CCLI number specified. Refer to the Options Copyright Screen for details.
Tip: A downloaded song should not require modification, although you may prefer that the number of lines per page be reduced by adding blank lines as required.
Example Song
O Come All Ye Faithful
.i Public Domain
.s V1 Ch V2 Ch Ch
.1
O come all ye faithful
Joyful and triumphant
O come ye
O come ye to Bethlehem
.
Come and behold Him
Born the King of angels
Chorus:
O come let us adore Him
O come let us adore Him
O come let us adore Him
Christ the Lord
.2
True God of true God
Light of Light eternal
Lo! He abhors not
The Virgin's womb
.
Son of the Father
Begotten not created
In this example:
Title = ''O Come All Ye Faithful''
Information = ''Public Domain''
Sequence = "V1 Ch V2 Ch Ch" This is a typical arrangement as a guide to the operator that the leader may follow.
There are three pages. The presence of the word Chorus at the start of a line enables the 0 (zero) key to jump to this page. Thus the page numbering is:
0 – Chorus:…
1 – O come all ye faithful…
2 – True God of true God…
If the .1 and .2 control information had been omitted, the pages would be recognised as:
1 – O come all ye faithful…
0 and 2 – Chorus:…
3 – True God of true God…
The period ('.') on its own in both verses denotes a blank line within the page.
